REAL HOMECOMING
We finally decided that flying was not going to work, so we chartered a bus to go see the Detroit Pistons. A motor coach, really. It was a nice coach, with comfortable seats, video, a bar and all the amenities that you could want. By this time we had about 25 people who were going with us. Some people wanted just to see the Pistons in the playoffs, and some were interested in seeing friends and relatives in the Detroit area. Tara had family back in Detroit, as well as in Cleveland, so this was going to be a real homecoming for her. We had originally thought that we could fly from point to point, but the airlines were not getting back to us, and we thought that we could possibly get a group rate. The motor coach turned out to be a much better deal money wise but also for fun. We all got to see a bit of the country we haven’t seen in awhile — or never — and left the driving and the worry to someone else. We decided to stay in a Bed and Breakfast in the Detroit area, as we didn’t want to be in a grungy hotel. The Bed and Breakfast we took over was built in the middle 1800’s, and it was haunted.
