THE NEIGHBOR
I am going to see Jersey Boys tonight but this morning I got a call at 6 a.m. from my neighbor, Bill. He was just getting in from being in all night and decided to ask if he could come over for coffee. I told him again that I had a boyfriend. He said he really needed to talk to me and could I please help him, so I told him to come over. When he go to my house, Bill was very disheveled. He told me that he had been out the night before with Paul when the two of them ran into some unsavory looking characters at our local bar, Joe’s Cottage. The guys asked them if they wanted to play Texas Holdem so they decided to go to this house in the next town for a card game. When they got to the house, it seemed that there was some sort of party going on already. Four other tough looking guys went up to Paul and Bill and demanded all of their cash. They then kicked them out of the house and told them to hit the road. It took them a half an hour to find their way back to our town because there was no moon last night. Bill said that after last night, he wants to stop drinking and asked if I stopped with AA. I guess it is all over town that not only am I an alcoholic, but now a recovering alcoholic! I am really glad we are seeing the play tonight otherwise I would be really mad.
